I’m turning 80 this month, but I don’t need flowers, candy or even a card. I’d rather have your support of the Tallahassee Senior Center and Foundation.
People ask me when I’m going to slow down, but I see no need for that. I serve on the Senior Center Advisory Council and work full time as a Realtor in Tallahassee. The Senior Center is part of what keeps me going.
When you get older, you can feel invisible sometimes, and we know that loneliness is rampant among seniors. When you go to the Senior Center, you won’t feel that way. For thousands of active adults, the Senior Center is THE place for friendship and laughter. It’s our happy place!
I’m hosting this Virtual Birthday Party because the activities, programs and services of the Senior Center are so important. Will you join me in making a tax-deductible gift to the Tallahassee Senior Center and Foundation?
I walked into the Senior Center many years ago, and what I saw blew me away. A friendly volunteer met me at the door and offered me a tour. I heard laughter everywhere. In one room, a group of men were shooting pool. In another room, people were playing cards, and in another, a painting class was about to start. I’d never seen anything like it.
Your generous support fills the Senior Center with a multitude of activities and programs that bring people together. Seniors are counting on us to keep these services and programs going!
We are grateful for the City of Tallahassee’s support of the facility and management of the Senior Center the past 40 years. And more recently, Leon County’s funding for 15 years to serve the unincorporated community.
