Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a hawk and falcon? Have you loved birds and other wildlife from afar and always wished you could get a closer look? If any of these questions sounds familiar, or if you just have a love of birds, look no further, you belong here!  This class explores the natural histories of raptorial birds including hawks, falcons, and owls along with living examples of these magnificent creatures up close and personal. You will learn identifying characteristics and behaviors as well as a brief exploration of our histories and relationships with them. Often, small decisions we make can impact our wildlife in different ways, and we will discuss some of these things as well. The presenter, Sharron Pena has spent the last 22 years working with birds of prey in just about every aspect of captive animal care, from wildlife rehabilitation to free flying them in renaissance festivals and outdoor birding events. Her passion, however, is sharing the wonder of wildlife in smaller settings one on one. She especially enjoys working with the senior community and young children.
