  • The Jamaican Seas of the Harlem Renaissance
     September 19, 2022
     10:00 am - 11:30 am

Many American writers with roots in the Caribbean have contributed significantly to American literature. Their influence began as early as the famous Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s and continues to the present.

Doctor Benjamin Lawson, retired English professor from Albany State University and FSU, gives a lively illustrated presentation which centers on Jamaican American poet, essayist, and writer of fiction Claude McKay.
