Non-Jews Persecuted during the Holocaust
September 18, 2024
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
The Holocaust was the deliberate attempt by Nazi Germany to eliminate the Jews of Europe. During the Holocaust, in addition to the six million Jewish victims, there were other groups of people persecuted by the Nazis, some targeted for murder and others not. These groups include Roma and Sinti (“gypsies”), resistors, political targets such as communists and socialists, Freemasons, gay men, people with disabilities, black and mixed-race children, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Soviet prisoners of war. This presentation will focus on the Nazi persecution against non-Jewish victims and highlight some people and their stories. Lauren Ray is a volunteer Docent Educator at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. Virtual class on Zoom.
