Foraging at Phipps Park
September 22, 2024
9:00 am - 11:00 am
Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park is Tallahassee’s most extensive wild urban park. Known for ancient massive trees, lush fields, and lovely streams, it is also a great place for wild edible plants. Local forager, Greg Haberfeld, will lead a foraging walk to help you learn how to seek out, identify, and sample some of these local delights. Foraging and eating wild plants and mushrooms may seem a little intimidating at first, but knowledge and practice can give you the confidence to start foraging on your own. Wear sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, and bring drinking water and a bag to carry foraged goodies.
