  • "Resilience Training 101"
     October 9, 2020
     11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Experience an hour of sharing resources and techniques to help us find the joy within us throughout life’s circumstances. Join Sonya Quijada to learn about the neuroscience of happiness, and how we can affect our attitude, emotions, and thoughts with simple daily practices. This is an interactive session so bring a notebook, a pen, and an open mind and willing heart. Let’s play!

Sonya studied biology and neuroscience at the University of Chicago and has practiced yoga for over 20 years. She completed her first yoga teacher training in 2007 and began her wellness and resilience career teaching yoga classes for the YMCA and the Army War College while assigned to the Army Physical Fitness Research Institute. She created, opened, and operated the first yoga studio in Leavenworth, Kansas, providing a legacy wellness center for the community. Through UPenn’s Positive Psychology program, she became a Master Resilience Trainer for the U.S. Army, and worked as a consultant with the Human Dimension Project. She is a certified life coach, sharing her knowledge of wellness and resilience skills to help people reduce stress, find their joy, and improve their quality of life.
