Alcohol Ink Exploration

Alcohol Ink is a unique medium, unlike watercolor, acrylic or oil, an inexperienced painter can achieve beautiful results with the vibrant colors and playful nature. This one day workshop will explore many ways to create bold abstracts and representational works of art. All skill levels welcome!

Materials

  • 5×8 pad of Yupo paper
  • Inks; Pinata or Adirondack.
  • Pinata has a set of 9 good colors
  • If buying individually some of my favorite colors are: Lemonade, Sunbright Yellow, Calabaza Orange, Baja Blue, Passion Purple, Forest Green, Teal or Turquoise, Stonewash Blue and Gold (gold is a must and comes with the Pinata Set)
  • Blending Solution
  • 91% alcohol in small bottle & small bottle with fine spray
  • 1 synthetic, round watercolor brush #10
  • Gloves
  • Apron
  • Toothbrush

Teacher will provide additional supplies such as: drinking straws,

Q-tips, straws, coffee stirrers, felt squares, stencils, etc.

Alcohol Inks and Yupo can be found at Cheap Joes Art Stuff, Dick Blick, Michaels and Joann Crafts. (Cheap Joes usually has the best price)
