Collage and Decoupage

Perdita Ross

November 3 – December 1 (6 weeks)
Fridays, 9:30am – 12 pm

Have you ever wanted to make a work of art as a gift for yourself or someone special to you? This class will teach you how to use your imagination to make unique, one-of-a-kind artworks using basic tools and materials. Both techniques require colored paper, magazines, and illustrations. The motifs can include animals, birds, figures, flowers, shapes, and abstract patterns. Collage is mixed media art that hangs on the wall and Decoupage is made with printed materials applied to a dimensional object like a box, lampshade or jar. Both paper art techniques are good for all skill levels and will encourage participants to learn a traditional craft that has always inspired artists and makers. The first class will feature Collage assemblage and the second class will feature Decoupage designs. The third class will allow students to complete their ongoing projects before presenting a. finished piece at the end of the last session. Working on art is a process that develops over time with patience, practice and an open mind.
