April 17 – May 22 (6 week workshop)
Mondays, 1 – 3:30 pm

Students will be introduced to principles and techniques of basic drawing using dry media with an emphasis on its formal language and working from direct observation. Students will become familiar with the tools of drawing and the proper use of each tool. Students will gain knowledge in how to interpret line, form, perspective, and scale. Students will learn through class the fundamentals of drawing technique. The first section of three classes will be revolved around this formal training as well as preparing a final project. The last three classes will be the completion of the final project as well as a discussion of the history of drawing. Students may choose to complete this final project on their own time.
