2022 Senior Artist Showcase

The Tallahassee Senior Artist Showcase is an annual juried fine art exhibition highlighting talented, mature artists residing in Tallahassee and the surrounding area. Artworks will be selected from submitted entries and exhibited in the Auditorium & Dining Room Galleries at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Awards will be selected from the actual artwork after it is installed in the exhibiting venues. The awards will be announced at the awards reception at the Senior Center September 16th, 6:00-8:00 pm.

  • Artists 50 years of age or older that reside within 100 mile radius of Tallahassee.
  • Artwork must be original and current (finished after January 1, 2018) and not shown in a previous Senior Artist Showcase exhibit.
  • We accept all fine art media, two-dimensional and small three-dimensional.
  • All hanging work must have wire securely attached to the back. No sawtooth hangers are allowed.
  • Artwork on paper must be framed behind Plexiglass or glass.
  • Canvas on stretchers is acceptable without additional framing if the sides of canvas have been finished.
  • Any artwork that has special requirements for installation or weighs more than 20 pounds must have that information added onto the entry form.
  • 2D Entries must not exceed 40 inches in any one direction (including frame).
  • 3D Entries must not exceed 24 inches in any one direction. Will be displayed in a locked display case.
  • Artworks that do not meet the standards indicated by the images from the application will be disqualified.
  • TSC is a City building – no nudity, inappropriate or inflammatory subject matter.
  • Artists are responsible for hand delivery and pick up of accepted artwork.
  • Artwork must be available for exhibit from August 23 through Nov. 29, 2021. 
  • Artwork unclaimed 10 days after the end of the exhibition will become the property of the exhibiting venue and will be donated to a non-profit organization.

The Senior Center does NOT provide insurance coverage for the artwork. Staff and trained volunteers will take the utmost care in handling all the artwork. Submission of this signed entry form indicates assumption by the artist of all risk and liability for the artwork and release of exhibiting venues from liability for damage or theft of artwork.

Deadline for Application – August 5th, 2022. 

Notifications and gallery delivery instructions emailed to artists August 12, 2022.

Artwork must be available August 22 through October 3, 2022.

Public Reception and Awards Ceremony September 16, 2022.
