Class Description

This abstract workshop will go over how color is used in an abstract painting. How to create minimal strokes with maximum impact. We will be accessing inspiration for our abstract artwork via music, poetry, and memories. Participants will study 3 abstract painters from different parts of the globe. We will go over the importance of background colors on canvas for your abstract, how to create light, life and motion in your painting and how to relieve stress while painting an abstract. One class will include creating your own abstract personal Mandala. This is great workshop for the beginning painter.
Instructor uses videos to enhance the learning experience.

Materials

 2 canvases (11×17 and square canvases work well)

Acrylic paint set: should include the colors – extra white, bright colors and black. (instructor uses Gotadeal from Amazon)

4 brushes. Small for details, medium flat brush, medium round brush, large flat brush.

Cosmetic sponges. Purchase at Walmart, Target or Publix in make-up department.
