  • 026 The Pursuit of Justice After the Holocaust
     September 17, 2021
     1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

After the Holocaust, Nazi leaders and perpetrators were tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity in military courts throughout Europe. This presentation, by Lauren Ray who is a volunteer docent at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, will focus on the pursuit of justice following the Holocaust, including the international trials, evidence presented at trials, Holocaust survivor testimonies, and hunting perpetrators. Perpetrators who initially escaped and assumed new identities and will also be discussed; some were hunted and captured many years later and tried in court; others escaped justice entirely. The ongoing pursuit of justice for property stolen by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Holocaust will also be covered.
