  • How Different Faith Traditions View Death
     September 9, 2022
     4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Death is the most common human event. While we may prefer to avoid thinking about our own mortality and that of those we love, we can glean wisdom and understanding from looking at the ways in which different faith traditions approach this sacred time. Local representatives from Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism will talk about how faith and beliefs can impact persons’ end-of-life decisions. They will address comforting the dying, care and disposition of the body, funeral customs, and mourning practices. Rev. Candace McKibben will moderate the panel and offer brief opening and closing remarks. Hybrid class, in person at TSC and on Zoom.
