Ask seniors what was their favorite toy under the Christmas tree? Many guys will say it was a Lionel or American Flyer train set. Santa could have delivered the pink Lionel Girl’s Train too, but if not, many gals remember their brothers’ toy trains. Everyone seems to love model trains. Hundreds attended the Big Bend Model Railroad Association’s 30^th Anniversary Model Train Show and Sale at the Fairgrounds in June, which has become one of the largest model train shows in the Southeast. For years, the Heartland Express Lionel layout was one of the most popular features at the Festival of Lights downtown. Sam Miller has been collecting, operating, and selling vintage model trains for 35 years.  See what memories Sam helps resurrect when he talks about his favorite hobby-passion.

This is a hybrid class which will be offered live and on Zoom. Participants will be sent an email the day before the class with the Zoom link. If they plan to attend in person, they need to reply to that email to let us know that they will be attending in person.
