Thursdays, 9:30 – 12:00  Zoom

Class Description

These days colored pencils are being used to create fine art. This class is available to beginning and continuing colored pencil fans.  Beginners: We’ll review color mixing theory as it applies to colored pencils, and practice the pressure, blending and burnishing essential to using colored pencils. Continuing students: We’ll practice additional techniques with simple tutorials that may include watercolor and/or the use of non-toxic mediums. The goal is for all participants to produce their own artworks. Each session will include demonstrations, slide shows, sharing and coloring/practice time. Specific requests for techniques can be accommodated.

Students are responsible to bring their own art supplies:

Prismacolor Premier pencils are “wax based.” They a good pencil for all stages of colored pencil work.  Lyra Rembrant Polycolors and Faber Castell Polychromos are “oil based” pencils.
